Who We Are
Integrating lived experience
at every step.
That's our founding lens.
The humans leading our agency don't just understand brain conditions — they've lived inside them, been shaped by them, and built communities around them.
Mark Slater is an award-winning writer, strategist, creative director, and agency leader with more than two decades of experience building brands, businesses, and narratives across healthcare and beyond.
He has partnered with hundreds of healthcare organizations, ranging from early-stage startups to several Fortune Ten companies. His leadership spans agency, consultancy, and advisory roles, defined by strategic rigor, emotional intelligence, and a deep respect for both science and lived human experience.
Mark is also a person with epilepsy. He serves on the board of the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium, is a leading voice in the campaign for a National Plan for Epilepsy, and advises organizations across the global neuroscience ecosystem.
He is the founder of Otherside, the world's first agency dedicated exclusively to neuroscience branding, strategy, and marketing. In 2025, he launched the Otherside Lounge, a first-of-its-kind pop-up activation designed to connect people living with epilepsy at conferences and events around the world.
